How would you like this view from your back yard? It's possible. This is the view from the back yard of a building in the country, 20 minutes from the beach, previously owned by a friend of ours. It's being remodelled into apartments.

Christmas is magical in Italy. This is a picture of the Corso in Fano, just before Christmas. This is the main shopping street, with stores selling goods from every international designer, and at half the price of New York or Rome. Magnifico!

If you're worried about our ability to handle a remodel or reconstruction, don't be. This is the view from the terrace into our apartment the day we signed the purchase contract. What a mess!

And while we're at it, let's step back and take a look at the back of the apartment on purchase day. Not a pretty sight, but the promise of something great to come was there.

OK, we know everyone's waiting for an "after" picture. Here it is, before the umbrellas, tables, and chairs appeared. Not bad, ehh? Especially at one third the price of a similar property in Florida!

We'll be adding snapshots of some of our favorite properties ... ones we've seen in person. This happens to be a special property that was refinished last summer (2005). You can see that the builder left some of the original brickwork exposed ... a common feature of many restored Italian properties. And when they find a fresco buried under coats and coats of paint, they get pretty excited.

A great red Italian kitchen! This one just happened to be in an apartment for sale at a great price ... with a huge bright bathroom. See below.

Now that's an Italian bathroom!

We very much look forward to hearing from you!
